Cole Fitzpatrick is a contemporary artist living in Boston, MA. His art has taken several shapes, sizes, forms, mediums, and genres, often opting for the surreal and the socially commentative. Ranging from oil paints, acrylic paints, gouache, charcoal and charcoal pencil drawings, graphite pencil, colored pencil, India ink, mixed media arts, scratchboards, and digital art through the Adobe Suite, he makes sure to think deeply and never pave the same ground twice.
Part of this instinct comes from his tenure at Pratt Institute, where he received a BFA in Drawing/Illustration in 2022 with Honors and a 3.52 GPA; his transcript labels him as on the President's List. The other part of this instinct to continually innovate comes from his lifelong ASD/ADHD Diagnosis. As a neurodivergent, his varied output suggests a larger lifelong affliction of excitedly jumping around from idea to idea, concept to concept, and subject to subject in an attempt to escape the norms of the field of art, while exhibiting expertise in every plausible situation and scenario. Well-trained in studies such as composition, anatomy, color theory, art history, literature, world history, and the most forefront autism research in the world, Cole casts a wide net to upend the establishment which narrows the artist to a particular field of arts.
Cole has spoken at several conferences about the autistic experience, such as at MassABA and ABAI International, including assembling a research poster for display at ABAI 17th Annual Conference in San Diego, where he spoke out against human rights violations in Judge Rotenberg Educational Center in front of thousands. His artwork has been on display at several gallery shows, such as SoWa Power Station (450 Harrison, Boston, MA), Montserrat Contemporary Art (Manhattan, NY), Steuben Hall (Brooklyn, NY, Pratt Institute), Woods-Gerry Gallery (Providence, RI, RISD), Memorial Hall (Providence, RI, RISD), Frame Center (South Shore, MA), and more.
He also is a regular blood and plasma donor, is multilingual (English, French, German, Italian, American Sign Language, Japanese), has volunteered to protect the environment overseas in South Africa, is American Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certified, has taken courses and received certificates for bartending, is self-taught at the piano for six years, and has established himself as a gallery-selling artist on more than one occasion. After working with commercial companies such as Design Communications, Ltd, Cole is venturing out for bold projects and can be contacted for new and exciting opportunities through his email:
